Phosphate Adsorption on ?-Alumina: A Surface Complex Model Based on Surface Characterization and Zeta Potential Measurements

نویسندگان

چکیده

An innovative approach using solid/liquid interface characterization (zetametry measurements, ATR-IR), coupled with ex situ FTIR has been used to build a phosphate complexation model at the alumina surface via PHREEQC software. According phosphorus coverage impregnated on surface, two mechanisms of adsorption have identified: specific complex adsorbed predominant facet and precipitation process. At low (P < 1.2 at/nm2), proceeds mainly through monodentate ?1-AlIV-OH sites located (110) facet, bidentate involving ?1-AlV-OH is also discussed. However, concentration these particular limited. Thus, above threshold at/nm2, occurs formation an amorphous AlPO4 phase, experimentally observed by zetametry measurements.

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model

over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

Enzyme-assisted calcium phosphate biomineralization on an inert alumina surface.

In this study a bioinspired approach to induce self-mineralization of bone-like material on alumina surfaces is presented. The mineralizing enzyme alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is covalently immobilized by a carbodiimide-mediated chemoligation method. The enzymatic activity of immobilized ALP and its mineralization capability are investigated under acellular conditions as well as in the presence o...

Surface Zeta Potential and Diamond Seeding on Gallium Nitride Films

The measurement of ζ potential of Ga-face and N-face gallium nitride has been carried out as a function of pH. Both of the faces show negative ζ potential in the pH range 5.5−9. The Ga-face has an isoelectric point at pH 5.5. The Nface shows a more negative ζ potential due to larger concentration of adsorbed oxygen. The ζ potential data clearly showed that H-terminated diamond seed solution at ...

Adsorption of Vitamin C on a Fullerene Surface: DFT Studies

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to investigate adsorptions of vitamin C (Vit) on the surface a fullerene structure (Ful) in gaseous and water–solvated systems. Two models of Vit including OVit and MVit were created based on the original structure of Vit for OVit and methylation of all hydroxyl groups for MVit. All singular and hybrid structures were optimized and the...

A New Surface Complexation Model for Chromate Adsorption on Ferrihydrite

Surface complexation models (SCMs) provide a mechanistic and thermodynamicallybased description of sorption reactions on mineral surfaces and can thus be used in geochemical modelling to predict contaminant sorption under a variety of geochemical conditions. In the last years, substantial effort has been put into obtaining multiple lines of evidence for the types of complexes formed on mineral ...
